On the return of Pastor Evan. A letter to the critics.

Dear Critic,
Have you ever been to America? I havent, but I have heard about it, I’ve seen it on television. Its a land of opportunity they say. As long as you are willing to work hard you can be anything you want to be – thats the promise of America. I have many friends of mine that have gone there, most of them were committed patriots who would speak passionately about their dream to come back and rebuild this broken land. Years later none of them has returned.
In one frank conversation with a friend of mine he asked me “ndodzokerei ikoko?” (Why should I come back?) Its a question that is very legitimate considering the current state of affairs.
Zimbabwe is a mess.
We all know it. The corruption, the lack of opportunity  the poor governance and the rot. Sometimes I think I was too naive for the opportunities that I turned down to start again in other first world countries.
Why would one come back from the proverbial  land of milk and honey to this wretched patch? Let alone when his very life is at risk?
When Pastor Evan left many people felt betrayed, forgetting the fact that the man primarily had an obligation to his family a pregnant wife and daughters who at the time were being hunted by the ruthless state apparatus . Is there any greater show of heroism than him coming back ? This action in my opinion  is the loudest “Hatichada uye Hatichatyi!”
Some misguided elements  continue to critisise throwing out unfounded conspiracy theories on social media from the comfort of their homes whilst Pastor Evan is currently  sharing  a cell with prison  lice with a treason charge on his neck. Has it dawned on you that this man has a wife and children? Or that rather than to be in this hell he could be eating the fat of the land comfortably  in the USA? Coming back home was his choice, and yes those handcuffs are real.
Im tired of all this negative energy. We have been played divide and rule for too long.

Those who have nothing  constructive to say its best just to keep quiet. It is well documented that those so-called liberation struggle heroes fled tail-in-between-legs to countries like Zambia until the war was fought and won. Here comes one hero in the thick of the action and his commitment is questioned? Come on fellow citizens we are better than this.
Lets honour our heroes.
To Pastor Evan. Welcome back. We have been waiting for you. May God bless you and may he keep you under his wings  (Ps 91)

The gates of hell (Zanu-PF) wont prevail.
Keep faith hope and love strong.
Christ is King and to God all the glory belongs.
Yours in the struggle
Moses Machipisa
